The company Peculium does not omit the needs of the others; part of the profit is donated to charity programs.
UNICEF
We financially support UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), which is involved in the protection of children and in improving their living conditions. UNICEF cooperates with local communities and governments in 157 countries around the world. The organisation was founded in 1946 as the International Children’s Fund to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. The organisation has been specialising in helping children living in poverty all over the world since 1953.
All the activities of UNICEF are managed with the belief that care for children and their healthy development are the basic conditions for the development of humankind. UNICEF was founded with the aim to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. We believe that together we can advance the cause of humanity.

ADRA
ADRA is an international humanitarian organisation providing help to people in need. It was founded in the United States of America more than fifty years ago and today it is represented in 125 countries of the world. ADRA is one of the three largest humanitarian organisations in the Czech Republic.
We decided to financially support the development and construction of a medical facility in Kenya in cooperation with ADRA. Thanks to this project, the first-aid station in the village of Itibo was reconstructed: the wiring was replaced, an operating theatre and storage rooms were built, welfare facilities including showers for patients were built and the water for the structure comes from a well that was dug out with the help of the local inhabitants. We also successfully built a maternity hospital and children’s ward. The main aim of the project is to provide care for those gravely ill who do not have enough money for treatment, to decrease the neonatal mortality rate and to improve health care in this region.
The PCL Group has provided a financial donation to this humanitarian project in Kenya – the village of Itibo. With regard to the fact that Itibo lies in an area with a high occurrence of malaria, which can be very dangerous especially for children, Mr. Bárta, the project manager, decided to buy a new vital functions monitor with the donation. As the donation was higher than the costs of the monitor, the remaining funds were used for purchasing drugs that are not available in Kenya and that can save lives in case of serious injury, illness or poisoning.
The vital functions monitor has a permanent value for the medical facility in Itibo and it can be used for a large number of patients. It allows a whole range of patient physical functions to be monitored and the alarm signal warns of any fluctuation in values that can endanger the patient’s life. This device will be a great help to the medical workers and it improves the quality of the medical facility by another step. The drugs purchased can save patients’ lives.
We are very glad that the PCL Group could contribute to increasing and improving the quality of medical care, especially for the child patients at this first-aid station.
